Who is Dean Manternach?

I am Dean Manternach, Vice President of Operations for Tharaldson Hospitality Management.

I went to school at Iowa State University and earned my bachelor’s degree in Hospitality. I have been working in hotels for as long as I can remember. I began my hospitality journey at a Fairfield Inn by Marriott as Bench Manager. I was then promoted to Assistant General Manager, and then General Manager for 5 years. I began with THM as Area Director starting in February 1995 (25+ years ago)!

I enjoy working for THM because it is a growth-oriented company with a down-to-earth approach. We operate quality hotels with quality employees and have fun while doing it! I love our owner’s humble demeanor and strong drive to be the best.

Some fun facts about me:

• Fun Fact: I loved playing basketball and running when I was younger… now I enjoy watching my kids play baseball and basketball.
